Target Rifle Shooting
Marksmanship is a skill that is very important to all of the cadet forces as well as their parent services.
Far from being a overtly military activity, target rifle shooting provides Air Cadets with a wide range of
skills and important lessons - especially with respect to the safety aspects and following clearly defined
procedures carefully and methodically.
Air Cadets only ever use rifles on military ranges under closely controlled conditions and have four Marksmanship awards to work towards as well as a number of competitions that they can enter each year. Skills learnt on the range as cadets can give new recruits into the armed Services a real advantage as they are generally already one step ahead of those who have not had cadet experience.
